In our estimate the overall production volume of 2019 will remain on the same level as 2018. The size of onions will also maintain the same overall line. This is mainly because the weather conditions were stable this year. There were no extreme weather conditions that affected the onion industry." "The new onion production season will roughly last until June. The onions supplied to the export industry mainly come from production areas in Gansu and Yunnan, with Yunnan mainly supplying yellow onions. The export volume is relatively small. We currently supply peeled onions harvested this production season in Yunnan. The current export price of onions shows an upward tendency, following the trend of recent months. However, when the new onion harvest in Europe enters the market, we expect the Chinese onion export to Europe to decline."

"The main onion product variety exported by this company is the peeled onion in the sizes 40 mm+ in 20 kg boxes, 50-70 mm in 20 kg boxes, 60-80 mm in 20 kg boxes, and 70-90 mm in 20 kg boxes. We also deliver custom-made 10 kg boxes in consultation with the client. We package the onions using nitrogen gas before we ship them to the European market."
