South African grape harvest draws to a close

Three of the five production regions of the South African Table Grape Industry (SATI) namely the Northern Provinces, Orange River and Olifants River have finished the season.

The Berg River region is in the tail end of their packing season with about three full pack weeks to go before finishing off. Producers are currently packing Crimson and Scarlotta as well as Allison. It is expected that this region will finish within the lower end of the range stated in the crop estimate.

The Hex River reached the last third of their harvest with weekly volumes reducing gradually. They are currently packing Crimson and other later cultivars. The region is expected to continue harvesting for a few more weeks.
