Robert Reck-Heinrich, Cargoplast GmbH:

'Reusable crate system Clever Fresh is an answer to the uniformity of the market'

Cargo Plast, headquartered in Salem, sells a new versatile box system that was presented at Fruit Logistica. The foldable and reusable crates with the name 'Clever Fresh' are intended primarily for fruit and vegetable transport and are designed individually according to the customer's ideas. The crates are both visually appealing and stable. They have a special drainage system. "The crates are easy to clean after their use and can then be used again," explains Managing Director Robert Reck-Heinrich.

Uniformity of the market
According to Cargo Plast, the system is already successfully in use at some companies. The process is intended primarily for medium-sized fresh food wholesalers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, stresses Reck-Heinrich. "Due to the increasing concentration of large retail chains, medium-sized companies hardly have the opportunity to design their own packaging. The complete layout is nowadays largely prescribed by food retailing. We are trying to break up the uniformity of the market, with our crates," says Reck-Heinrich.

Cargo Plast® GmbH markets the foldable crates in various sizes and two variants (fruit and universal crates).

Environmentally friendly
Logos, colors and other design can be integrated into the crates according to customer specifications. In addition to this flexible and individual design, sustainability is also a big selling point, says Reck-Heinrich. "Due to the reusable concept, our crates match the desire for sustainability and environmental protection." Even in the organic sector, the crates can be used quite easily. At a Swiss organic wholesaler, the crates are already in circulation.
