At Fruit Logistica 2019, we met the Managing Director Stephan Christoph (pictured below), who explained some of the latest developments in terms of packaging and packaging machines.
"Each product requires special packaging and Frutmac offers the optimal solution, adapted to the design and marketing needs of the customer - says Christoph - Our development department is always up to date with new trends and ideas, in order to offer packaging that is at the forefront of sustainability. Our primary goals are the gentle handling of the product, easy mechanical processing and the improvement of the shelf life of the products".
"At the fair, we showed off the essence of who we are and also aimed for graphics that clearly explain what we offer: machinery, food packaging and after-sales service. Among other innovations, we have focused on the new Blitz trays made of 100% biodegradable cardboard or grass paper", continues Christoph.
"In a sector such as the one of fruit and vegetables, which is increasingly focusing on sustainability and reducing the use of plastic, instead of packaging the conventional tray with film, it is possible to automatically close it with a cardboard lid, thanks to our fully automatic Blitzmatic+ lidding machine".

On the traditional cardboard tray, the lid is precisely applied by the automatic double-headed mechanism. A variable and integrated lid dispenser ensures quick conversion from lids for 4 to lids for 6 round fruits, such as apples.
"With our semi-automatic Blitzmatic packaging machine, on the other hand, a Blitz tray with side wings is closed on itself. For small quantities, the Blitz tray with manual closing is also available".

After filling, the corrugated board of the food containers are closed from above by means of interlocking technology. The Blitzmatic machine is installed between any filling system and a pricer.
Frutmac solutions are suitable for the installation of new packaging lines and for the integration or extension of existing lines. "In designing them, we place the emphasis on gentle handling of the products and reducing processing times as much as possible - concludes the managing director - In combination with our packaging materials, we can ensure that the packaging processes run smoothly.
