The Chinese Spring Festival [February 5th, 2019] is over and the retail volume of fruit greatly declined. This development is most obvious for imported fruits and gift boxes of fruit. Honey mandarins and other winter fruits approach the end of their retail season. They are gradually replaced by better-tasting Baba tangerines from Sichuan and Orri mandarins from Guangxi, as well as such spring fruits as strawberries and pineapples. The market slowly changes seasons.
Green Zespri ran out of stock and the supply of Golden Zespri is running short as well. The price of Zespri kiwifruit already increased to 300 yuan [44.39 USD] per box. Greek kiwifruit gradually enters the market at around 70 yuan [10.36 USD] per box of 30 kiwifruit. The price of tropical fruit is also universally on the rise, while other Southeast Asian fruits experience various degrees of price increase.
