“Good chance Deprez will step down as CEO of Greenyard”

According to observers, there’s a good chance Hein Deprez will step down as CEO of Greenyard now that he has to share the title with Zwaaneveld. The entrepreneur has said this isn’t the case.

In an analysis regarding Greenyard, analysts of equity research house KBC Securities predict that the unrest isn’t over for the company. Last Tuesday, Greenyard announced Deprez will have to share his position with Marc Zwaaneveld, who is to solve Greenyard’s debt crisis. Greenyard’s debts are five to six times higher than the company’s gross profit.

In a response to the speculation, Deprez says that any other changes aren’t under discussion. “Because of the workload, we as management have decided to appoint Marc co-CEO, so that he can completely focus on the improvements and transformation. I’ll continue to focus on the developments of concepts and products.”

“There’s a good chance Hein Deprez will soon step down as CEO,” according to KBC analyst Alan Vandenberghe. “I don’t know many companies that work with two CEOs, because it’s inefficient. It also seems very improbable Zwaaneveld will lose his CEO title after some weeks or months.” The analyst of Degroof Petercam, Fernand de Boer, also thinks it’s likely Zwaaneveld will soon be the company’s only CEO.
