"Sustainability and convenience are important topics for us"

Fruit Logistica is the linchpin for the international fruit and vegetable industry. Every year, both new and well-known companies introduce themselves and present important new products and topics according to the trends. Also the Bayer. Mushrooms & Forest Fruits Uwe Niklas GmbH was in Berlin last week. Among others, Uwe Niklas and his colleagues brought along the new product line "Kochidee" ('Cooking Idea'). Uwe Niklas explains: "Sustainability and convenience are important topics for us and many others, and our new cooking boxes fit in exactly these lines."

The Cooking Idea comes in six different variations of mushrooms with vegetables and clean label sauces. "We have something new with us, for example a mushroom mixture with cream sauce, the product is free of colorants, flavor enhancers and preservatives and the cooking idea is sustainably packed!"

Regarding the packaging, Niklas relies more and more on recyclable or compostable bowls. There are cardboard packagings that can be out in the waste paper bin, but there are compostable pressed grass punnets as well. Available in the range are the Cordyceps mushrooms from China.

Bayer. Pilze & Waldfrüchte Uwe Niklas GmbH supplies food retailers as well as bulk consumers and gastronomy 365 days a year with a large assortment of fresh forest and cultivated mushrooms.
