Hakki Bahar, president of Western Mediterranean Exporters' Association (BAIB) stated that Antalya exported 449 million USD (396 million Euro) worth of fresh fruits and vegetables export.
Speaking at a NGO meeting, Bahar shared information about the export and investments of the region including the cities of Antalya, Burdur and Isparta.
Bahar said that, Antalya exported 449 million USD (396 million Euro) worth of fresh fruits and vegetables. He added that the fresh produce sector is one of the two biggest export sectors of the region.
Bahar emphasized that the main problem of the region is not being able to produce high-value export products. He then pointed out to the available places in the industrial zone for entrepreneurs who would like to produce these kind of products.
"There are bilingual Russians in Antalya"
Bahar also pointed out to the Russian population in Antalya and that this may be an opportunity to develop joint ventures.
Stating that in February 14, Turkey and Russia will have a meeting to develop trade relations, Bahar said: "We offer many opportunities, we even have bilingual Russians living here."
