Fleuron d’Anjou has been present at the Fruit Logistica fair in Berlin for more than 17 years. “The first time we participated, our goal was to develop our exports, for which the fair seemed to offer good prospects,” explains Stéphanie Moyou, marketing and communication manager of the company. “Today, our objective, and that of many other people at the fair, is twofold: to strengthen the relations with our French and foreign clients, and to prospect. We also took advantage of this year’s event to present our new quality range of products. In the fall of 2018, we launched an offer in organic agriculture for which we aim to devote 250 ha within 3 years, and we will already propose zero-pesticide residue asparagus and corn salad in the spring of 2019. This desire to orient our crops towards products that will reassure consumers is supported by the PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) Echalote d’Anjou, the only shallot today to possess Official Signs of Quality and Origin (SIQO) since 2015. It is our third season with the PGI indication, the prices are good and the interest is increasing on the market.
Our FDA International branch exports to South-East Asia, North, South and Central America and the Middle East. Canada and the United States are favored markets for the shallot and scallion, and the Chinese market also looks promising.
