The multinational Avomix, specialized in the production of refrigerated, preservative-free guacamole and fresh avocado and mango fruit drinks, has expanded its facilities in the Costa del Sol-Axarquía Tecnoalimentario Park, in Vélez-Málaga, with the purchase of a new plot.
The mayor of Vélez-Málaga, Antonio Moreno Ferrer, and Avomix administrator Juan Antonio Reyes have signed the contract for the sale of the land, which has an area of 2,000 square meters and costs 260,000 Euro.
Avomix, a subsidiary of the subtropical crop trader Reyes Gutiérrez, is already present in this industrial terrain in a 2,500 square meter warehouse built on a 6,000 hectare plot.
In 2014, Avomix already invested 700,000 Euro in its current warehouse, which manufactures various juices and sauces made mainly from mangoes and avocados. 70 percent of its production is exported to France and Germany.
