Stephan Kohn, Heinrich GLAESER Nachf. GmbH:

"Our solutions make a valuable contribution to increasing yields and earlier harvests"

A sudden frost in April, hail, heavy rainfall and other weather capers, or the unwanted visit of insects in the fields make life always difficult for fruit and vegetable producers. "In order to ensure healthy growth and a good harvest even under extreme conditions, we work together with our customers on all kinds of solutions," says Stephan Kohn from Heinrich GLAESER Nachf. GmbH, about GLAESERgrow.

Since 2011, GLAESERgrow deals with the distribution and production of growth fleeces as well as films and nets for the fruit and vegetable industry. The GLAESERgrow growth fleece is used to cover plants directly on the ground, protecting them against frost, especially at night. It provides both uniform moisture levels and heat exchange, providing the right environment for optimal and healthy growth of crops.

"The special fleece not only protects against cold, wet and snow, but also speeds up fruit ripening, killing two birds with one stone."

In addition to the growth fleece, the company also offers, for example, the Perfolia harvesting foil, which is intended to produce a growth-promoting microclimate similar to that of a greenhouse. "Throughout the day, this film absorbs solar energy and reduces infrared radiation from the ground at night. On mulch and asparagus fields, the mulch film makes a valuable contribution to yield enhancement and early harvesting, besides suppressing weed growth, reducing the use of herbicides. This way, the environment is spared," says Kohn.

The pests that cause trouble in the spring are not forgotten at GLAESERgrow. There are a number of protective nets: "Depending on the pest, the user has only to pick the right mesh size," adds Kohn.

GLAESERgrow is part of the GLAESER Group, headquartered in Ulm, and serves the fruit and vegetable industry worldwide with a range of masking systems. "You will find our solutions especially in the countries bordering on Germany, but we are also in demand in South America - everywhere we have a lot of cultivation," concludes Kohn.

You can get to know GLAESERgrow in person at the upcoming IPM Essen: Hall 4 , Stand 4A26.
