Ideas, inspiration and a new initiative for fruits and vegetables

"Following the example of our successful initiative 'Flowers - 1000 Good Reasons', the new campaign 'Fruit & Vegetables - 1000 Good Reasons' will be launched at Fruit Logistica in Berlin and will specifically pick up on trendy themes, showcase local and international fruit and vegetables in an exciting, creative and sometimes provocative manner and consistently reduce objections against perceived 'traditional' vegetables among young consumers," says Armin Rehberg, CEO of Landgard eG.

Armin Rehberg, CEO of Landgard eG (l.), and Bert Schmitz, chairman of Landgard eG (r.), are already looking forward to new ideas, inspiration and a new initiative for fruit and vegetables at the Fruit Logistica, together with the 2019 Berry Bear.

Trade visitors from all over the world will again be able to enjoy a colorful mix of delicious and creative, partly new, partly extended Landgard concepts, licenses and proprietary brands around the quality products of regional, national and international Landgard growers. They will consciously put fresh products in a new context, tie this into stories and offer consumers and customers clear added value.

Attention-grabbing concepts
Brand-new licensing partnerships with strong partners like WW (formerly Weight Watchers) healthy nutrition experts, sympathetic professional boxer Axel Schulz, blockbusters Jurassic World characters and Minions make fruits and vegetables real eye-catchers at the point of sale. In addition to all this, they provide inspirations for enjoyable healthy eating that is easy to integrate into everyday life. And then there is the new Landgard 'honey drops' brand, that guarantees a unique sweet tomato taste.

As in 2018, many different concepts will be waiting for the visitors at the Landgard booth this year, who will take up and reinterpret trend themes and products for the trade. In the show kitchen, visitors can see for themselves how easy delicious and slender enjoyment is with the new WW cooking boxes from Landgard.

On all three days of the show, eye-catching concept designs throughout the entire Landgard stand will show the diversity of these and many other innovative licenses, concepts and brands such as Zanzibar, mouse broadcast, homemade and vitamin happy. With them, Landgard skilfully addresses and interprets trend themes and products for retailers. In the show kitchen, visitors of the Landgard stand can see how easy and delicious the results are from the new WW cooking boxes from Landgard.

Certified sustainable products
In addition to exciting ideas, there will also be a focus on future-oriented technologies at the Fruit Logistica Landgard stand. An example of this is the innovative digital Softripe technology, which Landgard is using in its new service center in Neu Wulmstorf -south of Hamburg- for the first time in 23 ripening rooms, for bananas and ready-to-eat items. The Softripe chambers ensure optimum quality, better taste, firm flesh and a gentler and more even ripening through sustainable technology and in conjunction with significant energy savings. Concepts and samples will illustrate the new performance pledges of Landgard every day, at the Landgard stand at the Fruit Logistica 2019.

At the Fruit Logistica, visitors to the fair will also be able to learn how to protect their environment with the new "Certified Sustainable Product" label, through concepts such as "Iss So" or "Iss Bio" and alternative packaging solutions. Landgard strives to be a responsible market leader and was also the winner of the German Sustainability Award 2018.

On Thursday evening, 7th February 2019, at 5 pm it will be no holds barred for the Landgard Green Hour with Axel Schulz and the issuing of the Landgard Award!

Landgard Award
On Thursday evening, 7th February 2019, at 5 pm, it will be curtains up for the Green Hour with Promitalk and Landgard Award! At the request of the Landgard producers, this industry award has returned to the Fruit Logistica after a short trip to the International Green Week in 2018.

The evening will be kicked off with a talk with Axel Schulz on fresh concepts that guarantee success. This will be followed by a panel discussion between the boxing professional, BVEO Managing Director dr. Christian Weseloh, sales representatives and nutrition experts, on fresh ideas for healthy eating and the benefits of generic initiatives, coupled with the launch of the new Landgard Initiative "Fruits & Vegetables - 1000 Good Reasons".

As part of the traditional "Green Hour", boxing legend Schulz and Landgard CEO Armin Rehberg together will give out the Landgard Award to the Landgard Producers of the Year and the Young Producers of the Year in the Fruit & Vegetables category. Who will take home this coveted trophy?
