The Christmas and New Year potato business was relatively quiet in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. In the south-west there are currently some offerings from France, at fairly high prices, to be found within food retail, according to the latest market reports.
Shortage of regional tubers
The German supply is meagre, and if there is any, then it increasingly comes from Lower Saxony. Local supply is very small, producer prices tend to be very high regionally.
