Cold snap hits China! What will happen to the banana market?

Prices in various banana production areas showed different degrees of decrease this week, with some production areas experiencing major price adjustments. And this weekend already saw a new cold current  for most provinces in south China. Some areas in Guangdong, Guangxi, and Yunnan reached their coldest temperatures in history. The temperature fell below 5 degrees in many areas, although it gradually warmed up again afterwards. The colder weather is expected to reach Xishuangbanna, Laos, and Myanmar next week.

This cold current is relatively strong and has a great impact on parts of Guangdong, Guangxi, and Yunnan, as well as a smaller impact on parts of Laos and Myanmar. However, the cold current will not last long this time. The impact on product quality in banana production areas could therefore be great or small, depending on the specific conditions in each production area. After the cold current passes, the price of top-quality bananas that escaped the effects of poor weather conditions could increase.
