Colruyt reports higher revenue and net profits for first half of 2018/2019 book year

Colruyt, the Belgian supermarket group's, turnover increased by three percent to almost EUR4,6 billion. This was for the period of 1 April to the end of September 2018. Excluding fuel, their revenue growth amounted to 2,3%.

The growth in organics, inflation of sales prices, and the increased sales area all contributed to the rise in revenue, compared to last year. Fewer sales days had a negative calendar effect of about two percent. The group's market share in Belgium improved from 31,9% to 32,4%.

The Colruyt Group's operational profit increased by more than nine percent in the first half of the 2018/2019 bookyear. It came to EUR253 million. The operational costs results ended up 5,5% of the turnover. In the same period of the 2017/2018 financial year, it was 5,2%. The group's net profit improved by more than 15% to EUR208 million.
