"Our new pineapple supply season officially begins in mid-February, 2019. We estimate that it will last more than two months. The pineapple production volume is quite stable this year and more or less on the same level as last year." This is according to Zhou Zhiqiang, CEO of Hainan Tiandiyuan Agricultural Development Co., Ltd.

"The Hainan pineapple industry reached maturity after years of standardization and large-scale development. The main competitors to Hainan pineapples on the Chinese market are imported pineapples from Southeast Asia. Their cost price is relatively cheap, but Hainan pineapples taste sweeter and the fibers are more tender."

"Our pineapple plantations in Qiongshan District of Haikou City, Hainan, will reach an overall surface area of 40 hectares next year. We mainly sell our pineapples under our own brand "Nan Feng Wan" through the wholesale markets in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai area, as well as supermarkets and e-commerce platforms."
"While we continue to develop our market share we also hope to establish cooperation with traders who require naturally ripe pineapples for distribution or second-grade, discounted pineapples for processing in medicinal products."
