Lani™ cherry harvest underway

Freshmax is delighted to launch their New Zealand export cherry program with the Lani™ – there is great optimism and excitement about an outstanding season ahead.

Lani™ is an early season cherry grown for its exceptional size and crunch, and has been the first good NZ export cherry out of Central Otago each year, according to the company. This year the colder spring temperatures have delayed harvest by comparison with previous years but with no adverse impact on fruit quality. Freshmax are extremely proud of the standard of the fruit this year and confident about the taste and appearance of the Lani™ variety.

“The first fruit is expected to be with export customers mid this week. They are thrilled to be receiving the new season Lani™ and excitement is mounting for the upcoming season. Our customers are anticipating strong sales to start their NZ campaign and are delighted to begin their NZ season with Lani™ before moving into our mainstream varieties that will run right through to Chinese New Year” says Tracey Burns, Export Division Manager at Freshmax NZ.

This week sees the start of the global Lani™ marketing campaign, stay up to date via lani.co.nz and @LaniCherries on Facebook and Instagram. Lani ™ will be available in China, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Taiwan.
