New Primavera association unites five companies from first processing stage of the food industry

Switzerland: New food industry association

The members of Primavera include Florin AG (vegetable oil), Frigemo AG (potato and vegetable products), Groupe Minoteries SA (flour), Kadi AG (potatoes) and the Schwiss Sugar AG.

The aim of the association is to maintain and promote a productive and strong agricultural and food sector in Switzerland, and in particular to maintain optimal conditions for the food processing industry of the first processing stage and the resulting products, as stated in a press release.

Primavera wanted to give the representatives of the first processing stage of the food industry a powerful voice, so that topics such as the preservation of sufficient initial production and first processing stage in Switzerland, or food security, were not forgotten in the ongoing discussions on further market opening steps.

Primavera's managing director is Urs Reinhard, who was co-managing director of the Federation of the Swiss Food Industry (Fial) until August.
