The Chinese president, Xi Jinping, carried out a state visit to Argentina on December 2nd. Xi met the Argentinian president Mauricio Macri for a talk in Buenos Aires. The two heads of state unanimously joined hands to open a new era of strategic cooperation between China and Argentine.
The overall value of trade between China and Argentine reached 13.8 billion USD in 2017, which is an increase of 12.1% in comparison with 2016. Argentine exports fresh fruit, beef, red wine, and marine products, which are popular with Chinese consumers. China is the main source of foreign investment in Argentine, which exceeds 10 billion USD and covers such areas as construction, energy, communication, and agriculture.
