The Rainforest Alliance, Inc., CAHOVA Project of SOCODEVI and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (SAG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in order to boost and help improve the competitiveness of the Rambutan chain, an exotic fruit that is produced in the country.
As of the signing of this Memorandum, these entities will work in coordination and have cooperation relations to support the chain at the national level, in the regions identified in common.
The goal of this effort to support small producers is to strengthen their position in the chain so that they can achieve greater benefits, as they are essential for the sustainability of agriculture.
Mauricio Guevara, the Head of the SAG said, "we hope that this Memorandum will be successfully executed within the 3 years that it's valid and, if necessary, that it be extended so that we continue working together for the benefit of our producers."
The Memorandum was signed by Ana Fortin, the Country Manager of RA, Serge Lantagne, on behalf of CAHOVA of SOCODEVI, and Mauricio Guevara Pinto, the Secretary of the SAG.
