The people's government of Zhouzhi County signed a strategic cooperation deal with Jiaxing Fruit Market for 31 thousand tons of Zhouzhi kiwi fruit worth 410 million yuan [60 million USD]. They hope to draw on the strength of the Jiaxing Fruit Market to open up a new market for Zhouzhi kiwi fruit and increase brand recognition. At the same time Zhouzhi kiwi fruit also increased its share of exports to Southeast Asia. At the end of the day, the Zhouzhi kiwi fruit companies and the Jiaxing Market companies signed additional trade deals for a total of 17 thousand tons of kiwi fruit worth 145 million yuan [20 million USD].
Zhouzhi County is known as the "Chinese hometown of kiwi fruit". The area has a 30-year history of kiwi fruit production that includes early, mid, and late season varieties, as well as red, yellow, and green varieties. The overall surface area devoted to kiwi fruit plantation in Zhouzhi county reached 28,200 hectares. One company after another has obtained a national green food certificate.
