Truck drivers and customs employees plan large-scale strike

Chinese exports to Philippines delayed

Chinese exports to the Philippines recently encountered difficulties. The products arrived, but are stuck in the port unable to clear customs and reach the customers. Local media report that truck drivers and customs employees plan a large-scale strike between November 19th and 24th to protest congestion in the port as well as the government plans to eliminate old trucks.

Local media further report that truck and customs unions like ABCI, HATAW, INHTA, and PCBAPI are involved in this strike. Truck drivers and customs employees are fed up with ineffective government negotiations, which is why they resort to this "non-violent non-cooperation" protest.

This means that while the strike is ongoing, products will experience delay in Philippines customs.
