According to José Illan of l'As du Ventoux, there will be a shortage of ceps for Christmas. "The amount of ceps is really very small. Other species, such as girolle mushrooms, Chanterelle mushrooms and hedgehog mushrooms should be fine."
Restricted quantities have pushed prices up. "Wild mushrooms are 10 to 15% more expensive than last year," says José. "Fortunately, the mushrooms we have are of good quality. The mushrooms of the As of Ventoux are particularly intended for the French supermarkets. In addition, the company supplies mushrooms to high-end fruit and vegetable wholesalers and restaurants.
The Lerates apple
L'As du Ventoux also has Lerates apples, a variety that originally comes from the Golden Delicious variety. José describes it as a very good product of high quality, with a beautiful color. It is grown in the Alps and Hautes-Alpes. Almost all apples from l'As du Ventoux are sold in France.
Grapes for Christmas
Ace du Ventoux is also has long-conservation grapes, such as Alphonse Lavallée and Muscat. Muscat will be on the market until Christmas. "For Christmas, we will have grape gift sets. It is a product very much requested during the holidays, among others, because it has a PDO. Muscat is eaten as a table grape, but can also be used in some dishes. "
