Good expectations for the export of fresh soursop from Ecuador

Expectations for fresh soursop exports have grown and become very positive in a short time, in fact, Ecuadorian marketers are already preparing to make test shipments at the end of November.

The most important export markets for soursop in Ecuador are the countries of the European Union and Asia, and, even though this fruit isn't well known in Europe, David Vargas, from Ecuaguanabana, said that "we carried out some analysis after a fair in Spain and had very encouraging results. In fact, we hope to sign agreements soon with large supermarket chains in Spain, the Netherlands, and France."

Soursop is becoming more and more known in the International markets every day and consumer demand is gradually increasing. This increase in popularity might be due to its health benefits, as this fruit has been used to treat different diseases and is known in some areas as the delicious miracle.

Regarding the growing success of the soursop from Ecuador, David Vargas said "the Ecuadorian soursop has special characteristics that make it very different from the others. This might be because Ecuador is located in Parallel 0, which helps increase the amount of nutrients, minerals and vitamins in the fruits; as well as the modern treatment and organic processes we carry out exclusively with our producers."
