Miami will be the venue for the 8th International Banana Congress, organized by the banana industry of Costa Rica; an event that brings together more than 600 participants from around the world, who will analyze the megatrends ahead for the banana industry.
The meeting, organized by the National Banana Corporation of Costa Rica (CORBANA) and promoted by that country's banana sector, aims to be the most important event for the global banana industry in 2019.
More than 30 global exhibitors will meet from May 29 to 31, 2019. The plan is to promote the exchange of knowledge regarding the latest findings in the fields of research, market analysis, logistics and fruit transport.
Also, discussions will be held on the advances made to prevent the entry of Fusarium Tropical Race 4 (Foc R4T) to Latin America. This is one of the worst diseases threatening plantain and banana plantations, but for now remains latent in Southeast Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
The event will feature masterly presentations, short lectures, debates and round tables," reports the General Manager of CORBANA, Jorge Sauma.
