This is the first year with significant quantities of the red kiwi Jingold. The news is destined to create a bit of confusion within the kiwi sector. Patrizio Neri, president of the Consorzio, explained, “Basically, the produce of this year is already sold. We will actualise a sales plan in different regions. Then, we will have larger quantities, starting from next year. Thanks to this variety, we can define ourselves not only as category specialists but also as product specialists. Other than the traditional green kiwi, we have the Bliss variety, which has a different green than the Hayward, the yellow and the organic varieties.

The farming of the red kiwi occupies almost 100 hectares. The cultivation occurs in the most suitable areas and where the Consorzio can count on specialised farmers, throughout Italy. The red kiwi does not only fulfil the product range but it also represents a novelty that meets the tastes of non-habitual consumers.
“The taste has some exotic variations, with extreme sweetness and minor acidity. This product allows us standing out in a more incisive manner. Plus, it completes our offer, especially for emerging markets”.

The Consorzio Jingold participates in Fruit Attraction Madrid because Spain is an important market. Usually, the country imports large quantities of kiwis. But most importantly, at the fair, it is possible to meet new and old clients from all over the world.
