Why do clients come back again and again? Floor Trading thinks it is for tasty, distinctive products. This Dutch wholesaler trades in nuts, speciality and novelty products. This is the reason why clients keep returning. These novelties can, after all, not be found for sale anywhere else. Floor Trading has specialized in this kind of product.
“We travel and go to quite a lot of (night) markets. By doing so, we can offer truly unique products. The healthy lifestyle is a trend at the moment. However, these products are often not good to eat", says Florus Zwartbol, one of the company's two owners.
"We are currently fully focused on healthy snacks. These are healthy as well as tasty. These snacks can be eaten anytime - just as easily at cocktail parties or breakfast", he says. They get the snacks and ideas from Asia. "They are currently the absolute frontrunner in the area of healthy snacks.”
Kees Smits and Florus Zwartbol specialize in innovations
They compile the assortments of these healthy snacks, using the experience they gained from having their own specialty businesses. This means they can follow trends closely and cater to consumers needs. They are also able to test out products in their store. "We let people taste Happy crackers, for instance. We have noticed that they go down well. Clients return for them because these crackers cannot be found anywhere else", says Florus.

Floor Trading are specialists in novelties. The innovative products this wholesaler brings to market are currently still currently meant exclusively for specialty stores. They can use these to distinguish themselves.
“Successful introductions are copied, of course. We have seen this with, for example, superfoods. We, therefore, offer these leading-edge products to larger clients two years later. However, we ensure that we again provide new innovative products to the specialty stores. Even better, we make sure we already have these on our shelves", adds Keest Smits, co-founder of Floor Trading.
Various kinds of Nutty Bites
Floor Trading has been in business for a year and a half. They now have clients in the Netherlands and other European countries. Florus brings in an enormous amount of store operation experience. Kees owned a large Dutch nut factory. They had 120 employees.
He has extensive experience when it comes to buying and processing nuts. This experience extends to packaging and adding value, such as coating, roasting, and spicing, to nuts and dried fruit. Between the two of them, this means there is 55 years of combined experience in this young company.
Vegetable chips
Floor Trading is now bringing low fat, healthy innovative products onto the market. These products include various types of Nutty Bytes, Happy crackers, and Seaweed Sandwiches. There are also different kinds of dried fruit, vegetables, and mushrooms. "Like the tasty veggie chips", concludes Florus.
