China: Snowstorm in Urumqi has little influence on agricultural industry

The heavy sheet of snow after a snowstorm in Urumqi is weighing down and breaking the branches of fruit trees, but how did it affect the agricultural industry in and around Urumqi? The Association of Urumqi Vegetable Industry stated that most of the vegetable harvest in and around Urumqi has already finished, although there are still many "late autumn" vegetables such as gourds and tomatoes produced in glasshouse plantations.

Data from the Association of Urumqi Vegetable Industry shows that 60% of the current vegetable supply comes from "late autumn" vegetable production in glasshouse plantations around Urumqi City. The first snowfall generally has little impact on vegetable production in Urumqi, if the weather clears up immediately. Only if the weather remains cold for another week will it influence vegetable production.
