Reviving the kiwi consumption through the yellow pulp variety

For years, kiwi sales have been growing. Yet, sometimes the production exceeds the demand. The yellow pulp kiwi seems to be the most suited for new investments. Consumers really appreciate this fruit’s organoleptic characteristics.

In recent days, the Dorì Europe Consortium organized the annual convention for buyers, farmers and technicians. During the Agrilinea talk show – hosted by Sauro Angelini – the buyer Kevin Aumeyang stated that the Dorì containers imported in the past few months have met the expectations. “The Dorì has been well preserved. It was of high quality and we had no problem placing it in the reference markets at a very good price. It is one of the best products ever tasted".

At the Dorì Day Convention, there were also producers from all over the world. Dal Pane claimed that the expected production of this season would have been of 2.000 tons. However, thanks to the climatic conditions, it will probably be around 2.500 tons. “We are starting to have important numbers. Additionally, many hectares are still going into production: in Chile, we have 230 hectares, others will be planned in South Africa and Australia”.

About the safekeeping, the president has no doubts: “The anti-hail nets are obligatory, always. We cannot risk having any product only because a hailstorm destroys everything in a few minutes. We strongly advise the use of anti-rain covers, especially when there is a high risk of bacterial infection.
