After the beginning of (Chinese) autumn, the garlic starts to sprout faster. Garlic loses part of its quality when it sprouts, so the sprouted garlic can only be sold in China or exported to neighbouring countries. So the selling price is lower than garlic without sprouts.
As a result, the price for garlic without sprouts remains high on the market. The price for garlic without sprouts in the Shenyang region has mounted to 14 RMB per kg and it will continue to rise in the near future.
