According to Don Vito Bananas’ website, Lazo is a professional with a long experience in the field: “He is an expert in farm management for export and management of natural resources based on development and sustainable planning strategies. In addition, he is is also knowledgeable in the development and production of integrated agricultural and forestry systems based on organic agriculture and sustainable principles. In addition, he has experience in the development and research of organic production systems, in the export of tropical crops, and has knowledge about marketing of eco-agricultural products.

Up until Wednesday, August 22, the employees of the State portfolio didn’t know much about the new Minister. He is better known by producers and exporters of bananas. The president of the Association of Exporters of Bananas of Ecuador (AEBE), Eduardo Ledesma, celebrated the appointment of the official.

"I believe that this appointment will help the banana sector achieve the place it deserves by achieving goals and objectives that allow new investments, currencies and jobs," Ledesma said. “I’m sure Lazo Guerrero know what has to be done,” he said and pledged him his support.
