According to an article in the 'China of Three agricultures' which gives a voice to rural villages in China, autumn vegetables have hit the market one after the other all over China following the gradual drop in temperature. This means that the supply of vegetables has entered an alternate period. Besides that vegetables which were originally produced on dry land are now coming out of greenhouses, the vegetable market has also slowly started to shift from north to south. This also causes the transport costs for a large share of vegetables on the market to be somewhat higher. In addition, the rain since the start of autumn has also had an impact on the price for vegetables.
The main reason for this price increase for vegetables is that at the beginning of the month the temperature fell quickly and there was less rainfall all over the country. The picking and transporting of vegetables have all been obviously affected, because of the vegetable supply, certain problems have arisen in the regional offices. In accordance with the regular pattern from previous years, the supply of autumn vegetables will gradually grow all over the country after November, but the price for vegetables will keep on going up.
