Bejo shows attractive concepts and a “fresh look at lettuce”

This year Bejo has added lettuce as a new vegetable range to its assortment. They will enthusiastically present the extensive and excellent lettuce range at the Fruit Logistica. Of course visitors of Fruit Logistica will find interesting vegetable concepts at their stand, which will serve as an inspiration and can be discussed in greater detail.

Now the quality seeds for the lettuce varieties Iceberg, Batavia, Butterhead, Lollo, Oak Leaf and Babyleaf are a part of the Bejo assortment. Bejo is therefore extremely enthusiastic about presenting a selection of existing and new varieties. The varieties shown give a healthy yield when grown in the open field and are very tasty. Resistance is extremely important for lettuce growers. The lettuce assortment of Bejo is exceptionally strong in that regard. In addition to good cultivation qualities, the varieties, Times, (Iceberg), Agribel (Batavia) and Malis (Butterhead) meet the demands for disease resistance of the Western European market. These varieties also meet other requirements for successful supermarket sales. 

The fresh onion variety, Delicioni is a very interesting expansion of the assortment of the standard range of storage and bunching onions. The bulb of the fresh onion is particularly juicy and has a powerful flavor, and the stems are very decorative and tasty. The Delicioni onion is attractively presented in a bunch of three onions with various colors. The onions can present beautifully on a plate as well as in the stores, thanks to this color range. The juicy and crunchy bite and the powerful flavor make this onion a wonderful addition to salads and grilled dishes.

Bejo regards the Fruit Logistica trade fair as a platform to meet partners and aims to inspire them with new applications for crops, processing and consumption. Other concepts that Bejo brings to the visitors’ attention are Kohrispy, koolrabi snacks, Coolwrap a wrap of white cabbage leaves (cabbage rolls) and Cool Carrot Candy, a carrot snack. So in the Bejo veggie corner products, such as radishes, are presented that are perfectly matched with current food trends. Within the taste, health and convenience theme Bejo presents developments of tasty varieties such as Konan (kohlrabi), Balada (celery), Mokum (carrots) or Rosetta (radish). These varieties lend themselves perfectly for raw or ready-made applications. Visitors can see and taste examples of these concepts at the Bejo stand during Fruit Logistica. 

During a special event on Wednesday evening, 8 February, the presented Bejo concepts will be shown in a unique way. At this evening, invited participants will have an opportunity to try, taste and discuss dishes with Bejo concepts.

That is why Bejo will be inviting interested parties to start the day with an organic breakfast at 9:15 a.m. on Friday, 10 February.
