Photo report of PMA Fruittrade 2016 - Chile

On 9 and 10 November, the third edition of the PMA Fruittrade fair was held in Santiago, Chile. The event was attended by more than 80 exhibitors. The program included 4 seminars and 7 technical sessions and there were more than 30 talks on the fruit and vegetable sector, as well as round tables for business purposes.

The fair was mainly attended by exhibitors providing services for the fruit and vegetable industry. There were both national and international exhibitors, with a noteworthy presence of US suppliers. According to Nancy Tucker, representative of PMA, "it is becoming a more specialised fair."

Although the official figures have yet to be published, the reactions from the exhibitors were ambiguous. While it has been highlighted that both the number of exhibitors and of visitors have been lower compared to previous years, this does not mean that the fair has achieved worse results than expected. Representatives of Fedefruta pointed out that, "due to the economic crisis in Chile, there have been fewer exhibitors, but the prospect for next year is to record a new increase in the number of stands."
