WP Rawl partners with leading nutrition expert

WP Rawl, the premier grower, processor and shipper of leafy greens, announced last week that it is entering into a partnership with registered dietitian and three-time New York Times best-selling author, Cynthia Sass to promote Nature’s Greens’ 2016 “Back to Fresh” campaign.

“Back to Fresh: Make Your Plate Green in 2016,” is a year-round, all-encompassing and tightly-branded campaign focused on monthly recipe and lifestyle content themes where the brand helps consumers take the guesswork out of eating a balanced and clean diet. The heroes of the campaign, of course, are leafy greens. The campaign and the partnership with Sass will debut at WP Rawl’s booth in the South Carolina Pavilion at PMA Fresh Summit (booth #1025).

In addition to being an author, Sass is a columnist and practitioner with master's degrees in both nutrition science and public health and formal culinary training. She is one of the few health and wellness experts known for her consistent presence in nearly every aspect of communications, from media spokesperson and speaker to blogger, editor, and on air talent. Sass is currently the contributing nutrition editor for HEALTH magazine and has served as the sports nutrition consultant to four professional sports teams.

Leafy greens have been on the rise in the past decade for their nutrition density, and as a grower, WP Rawl has always made a conscious effort of staying ahead of trends. In fact, the company was one of the early adapters of placing nutritional call outs on packaging in order to give more helpful information to the consumer. Their partnership with Sass is just another step in that direction.

“As a leader in the category, it is important to us to continuously look for new ways in which to help our customers and consumers,” said Ashley Rawl, vice president of sales, marketing and product development. “We are so happy to partner with Cynthia in 2016 and are excited to learn from her as we grow our nutrition messaging and be a powerful source not just to us but to leafy greens consumers as well.”
