Bejo Seeds joins 'Eating by Example' pledge

Bejo Seeds has pledged to serve and eat more fresh produce at company and industry events to demonstrate leadership in the effort to boost fruit and vegetable consumption. By joining the Eating by Example initiative from the Produce Marketing Association, Bejo Seeds expects to raise employee and industry awareness of the need to increase produce consumption.

The Eating by Example initiative, conceived by graduates of the PMA Foundation Emerging Leaders Program, is a fun, non-binding pledge to boost industry’s own produce consumption. It offers simple tips on how to add more fruit and vegetables to all eating occasions. It is relying on social media efforts by participants to drive engagement and demonstrate the impact of #EatingByExample in the workplace.

Bejo Seeds, Inc is a subsidiary of Bejo Zaden. Specialists worldwide in the food chain choose vegetable seeds from Bejo. A natural choice, Bejo is one of the leading companies in breeding, production, processing, and sale of premium quality vegetable seeds, and our experience in the seed sector spans more than 100 years. Our assortment of more than 1,000 different varieties, representing some 50 crops, enables Bejo to offer a comprehensive program suitable for various markets and climate zones. We translate market demands into vegetable varieties that clearly represent added value for the entire food chain. Constant innovation is the focus and main drive for Bejo’s growth.

At Bejo Seeds, we see this as a fun way to spread the word to our employees and others that consumption matters. It matters to our health and our bottom line. As industry leaders, we recognize our obligation to step up and model the behavior we so widely encourage in others.
