We completely forgo any kind of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, herbicides and other ecological tools”, says Mignon Ortlepp. On a farm in Andalusia (Spain) - Founder and Managing Director Friedrich Lehmann is pursuing his goal of a sustainable cultivation. “In this method of cultivation many factors come together. For example, the plants are not growing as usual in straight rows. They are growing in wavy rows”, Mignon Ortlepp describes, “This arrangement intends to ensure that the wind is not sweeping too strong through the rows of plants. Further a lot of importance is attached to the layer of humus in the soil.” In addition, the company has set its own standards on which the company lives and works. “An important part of our philosophy is humanity,” says the head of marketing, “humanity during cultivation, distribution and sale. Each part of the value chain must be treated fairly.”
