Exported volumes have increased (+4.6%), 3.6% lower value than 2013. Imports are lower both in terms of volumes (-3.1%) and value (-2.7%).
Between January and September, Italian companies exported 2.8 million tons of produce for a total of a little over €2.8 billion.

Vegetable exports went down (-1.9%), whereas the sign was positive for other sectors like fresh fruit (+7.3%), citrus fruit (+3.4%) and dried fruit (+23.7%). In terms of value, there was an increase only for dried fruit (+40.1%), whereas there was a drop for vegetables (-9.7%), citrus fruit (-7.4%) and fresh fruit (-4.5%).
As regards imports, Italy bought abroad around 2.4 million tons of produce for €2.2 billion in total.
There was an increase in the volumes of fresh fruit (2.4%), dried fruit (19.1%) and tropical fruit (5.5%), whereas citrus fruit and vegetables did not do so well (-23.9% and -6% respectively). In terms of value, it was negative for vegetables, citrus fruit and dried fruit but it was positive for dried and tropical fruit.
