Vegetables take off as children's toys

Spanish architect Patricia Urquiola has developed several 3D print designs during a workshop, which turns vegetables into fun toys, German website reports. That way, children can transform eggplants, carrots and other vegetables into helicopters, race cars or jet planes.

These so-called 'Open Toys' were recently presented for the first time in a pop-up gallery in Paris, where a group of children were able to work with the vegetables during a workshop. The Open Toys were further developed by Parisian company 'Le FabShop'. 14 building elements are ready to be downloaded for free, including a propeller, wings, and wheels. A 3D printer is required to make the parts.
