Morocco is already shipping tomatoes to Russia

According to the latest "Monitoring Report of the protected horticultural sector, 2014/2015 Campaign" by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development on the first two weeks of the month November, Morocco is sending part of its tomato exports to Russia.

According to this report, between October 27 and November 3, the North African country exported 5,691 tons of tomatoes to the European Union (EU), at an average price of 97.87 Euro per 100 kilos, more than double the minimum entry price set by the Association Agreement it has with the EU. Furthermore, exports to the EU between November 4th and November 9th totalled 5,313 tons, which were sold at an average price of 82.44 Euro per 100 kilos.

These figures, as suggested by the report of Andalusia's Administration, show there has been 2% increase in volume over the same period last year, while prices have increased by 100%. In the same dates of 2013 Moroccan tomato prices in the European markets were closer to the minimum laid down in the Association Agreement.
