Aldi launches new organic label in Switzerland

As of November 1st Aldi Switzerland has launched a new organic Swiss label 'Nature Suisse Bio', reports the Swiss website Schweizerbauer.ch. The discount store is playing into the increasing demand for organically produced products from Switzerland. Products with the new organic label meet the requirements of the Swiss bio regulation.

Thus far the 'Nature Suisse Bio' label has 11 products. However, the discount store is planning to further expand this label. The prices of the organic products from Aldi will be lower that of organic products from Coop and Migros, confirms Aldi Switzerland. "Everyone should be able to afford organic products," says the company. Affordable selling prices will not have a negative impact on producer prices, but instead will be achieved through cost advantages. These cost advantages include (but are not limited to): limited range, efficient logistics and rational sales presentation.
