Switzerland: retail sector sees decreasing sales of fruit and vegetable

On the Swiss market this past summer (June-August) fruit and vegetables achieved lower sales than last year. When compared to last year, fruit sales fell by 26 million Swiss francs (21.57 million Euro) or 5%. Vegetable sales fell by 20 million Swiss francs (16.59 million Euro) or 4%. These numbers come from the 'Bundesamt für Landwirtschaft' (BLW) (Federal Office for Agriculture).

On the other hand, the organic sector has seen some positive growth and this is where the revenue was earned. Each sector grew by 6%.
