The Brazilian papaya branch is hoping to improve its export balance this season compared to last year, reports the German website Fruchthandel.de.

Until now the export level has been continuously above the level of the previous year, according to the market statistics from the ministry of Foreign Trade SECEX. In total around 24,000 tonnes of papaya were exported to international markets in the period between January and September 2014. This is a growth of 16% compared to last year. According to information from 'freshfruitportal' Europe is once again the largest sale market for Brazil by far with a share of over 80%.
