Switzerland has large supply of pears

The initial estimate regarding the number of stored pears in Switzerland is 12,217 tons, not including Williams pears (228 tons), this information comes recently from Swisscofel and the 'Schweizer Obstverband' ('Swiss Fruit Union'). This initial estimate is 3,772 tons more than last year.

At the end of September the harvest for the Kaiser Alexander pears was not completely done. People are assuming that the stored supply of pears will be slightly higher than the hoped for target of 11,000 tons, given the current stock decline.
