Pacific Tomato Growers provide employees free health resources at health fair
The Health Fair was included as a part of the company’s holiday celebration for their employees, and more than a thousand people attended on Saturday, December 14 at the grower’s Immokalee Farm. Pacific Tomato Growers worked with local health providers in the area to bring employees free services including eye exams, flu shots, glucose testing and nutritional information that employees may not otherwise have access to. In addition to the preventative health services, employees and their families enjoyed holiday food, music, activities and games, including face painting and a dunk tank featuring members of the Pacific Tomato Growers staff.
“We chose to have this health fair because we wanted to show our appreciation for our employees and their families by providing them with some basics they may not have had a chance to receive because they work so hard and travel so much,” said Sarah Goldberger, Human Resources Director for Pacific Tomato Growers. “Wrapped into a fun-filled family day, we used the event to celebrate our shared passion for the work we do.”
Eye Centers of Florida and Walgreens were just a few of the local vendors in attendance who supplied information to Pacific Tomato Growers employees who may not know they have free access to their health services within their community.
