FirstFruits marketing pledges $20,000 to Philippine relief efforts

FirstFruits Marketing has pledged to contribute two containers of emergency supplies, valued at $20,000, to support relief efforts following the recent devastation from Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. One month after the typhoon it is estimated that 6,000 people have been killed and 12 million were affected with many left homeless and without food and safe drinking water.

“From the beginning FirstFruits Marketing’s mission has been to serve people in need and we have funding set aside to address emergent situations,” remarked Naomi Lule, chief financial officer at FirstFruits Marketing. “When Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines our employees and board of directors all agreed that we wanted to support the relief efforts.”

The donation will be made to Convoy of Hope, based in Springfield, MO.

When FirstFruits Marketing was launched in August 2009 as the sales and marketing arm and vertical extension of Broetje Orchards, the owners Ralph and Cheryl Broetje determined that FirstFruits would donate the first 10% of profits to people-in-need across the globe. The recipients of this funding are chosen by the people employed within the organization.
