Rafael Olivo Cimas appointed supply chain manager at Prim’land
be in charge of managing the kiwi fruit supply chain. Rafael will have a transversal role within Prim’land and in particular will be responsible for coordinating and helping to optimize all stages of the logistics chain, namely growing conditions, planning the harvest for over 850 hectares of orchards, transport of the kiwi fruit to the group’s 8 units, sales and management of stocks and transport. He will have an important role to play in terms of cost reduction and improving the company’s competitiveness. His remit will be to ensure client satisfaction.
Rafael Olivo Cimas, 49, has already acquired considerable experience amongst kiwi professionals in Spain and Internationally. As an Economics graduate, in 1984 he joined Kiwis La Isla, a family business in Asturias, Spain, and became the managing director in charge of kiwi fruit production, preparation and sales. In particular he developed and integrated the Kiwis La Isla brand into the top-of-the-range market segment in Spain. Moreover, Rafael has performed professional responsibilities within the kiwi fruit sector as president of the international IKO conference in 2008. Rafael will be charged with maximising collaboration between all Prim’land’s different entities.
For the 2013/2014 season, Prim’land is planning to market 17,000 tonnes of kiwi fruit, 40% of which will be in France, 20% in the rest of Europe and 40% overseas.
In terms of quality, the new kiwi fruit season is approaching under the best auspices. To ensure client satisfaction in France and abroad, Prim’land is offering its products under several quality labels: CCP, BIO, LABEL ROUGE and PGI.
