France: First air freight Peruvian mangoes at Halls

The first consignment of this season’s Halls’ air-freight mangoes have landed in France from Peru and importer Halls reports exceptional quality.

Packed under the Halls brand, the Kent mangoes have excellent consistency of colour and sweetness across every carton, giving guaranteed flavour. As the fruit has been allowed to ripen on the tree and is on the aeroplane within 24 hours, the maturity levels are correct on arrival and as such bears no comparison with sea freight mangoes.

Izam Afkir, Halls’ Product Manager for mango says, “We are still convinced this product is the best option for the consumer as each fruit tastes the same as the next so there can be no disappointment on purchase”.

The mangoes will be available on the French market as well as other European countries such as Holland, Germany, Italy and Russia.

There will be arrivals through this week until April. The fruit is available from Halls as a loose 6kg carton and as individually pre packed fruit. As is normal for the start of the season, sizes are small and volumes limited at the moment. The main imports and bigger sizes will start arriving in January.
