Colombian avocados already in Europe

Producers from the Colombian regions of Quindío, Risaralda, Caldas, Norte del Valle and part of Tolima have started exporting avocados to Europe, according to the president of the Avocado Producers Association, Diego Aristizábal.

The first shipments were made to The Netherlands, which received one container, and according to Aristizábal, the goal is to triple that number.

In July, the Association also announced the first shipments to the United States would be made from the first semester of 2014, due to which production volumes were expected to increase from 27,000 to 62,000 tonnes.
