European Zespri® kiwi season begins

Zespri® has kicked off the new European-cultivated kiwi season. To be able to meet demand all year round, the company grows the fruit in both of the planet's hemispheres. From now until the month of April, all Zespri® kiwis consumed in Spain will arrive from European countries.

It is worth noting that Zespri® is the only kiwi producer that is able to supply this fruit all year round, while maintaining the same quality and flavour standards which makes them a favourite amongst consumers.

This is due to the Zespri® system; an exhaustive control process developed in New Zealand which ensures that all of the company's growers follow identical quality and sustainability procedures during planting, harvesting and distribution.

Some of these procedures include the careful selection of the land, strict controls to ensure all fruit is ideal for consumption, or the supervision from an external laboratory, which points out the right moment for the harvest and the storing in environmentally-friendly cold chambers.

As a result, Zespri Green kiwis, a variety with green pulp and a refreshing, slightly acidic flavour, and Zespri SunGold kiwis, which have a soft pulp and a sweet, tropical flavour, arrive to consumers in optimal quality and sanitary conditions, regardless of where they have been cultivated.
